Welcome to the first EVER episode of The Moneydiver Online Marketing Podcast, I’m so pumped to finally be able to publish it and go live.
It’s been over a year since I wanted to do it but between product development and other things and wasn’t able to do it sooner.
But here we are, we are live and we are in for the long term.
This episode is an introduction to the podcast, what you can expect from it and from me as your host. I discuss the hows and whys of this online marketing podcast, it has a step by step format and I will try to be very specific and detailed about every marketing strategy that gets featured on the show.
I discuss the story behind the show, the brand and a little about the journey.
The purpose is so you know who is talking to you, why you should trust what I or my guests say and why I would love you to stick around.

Transcript of This Introductory Episode to The Moneydiver Online Marketing Podcast
This is the first ever episode of the Moneydiver podcast. I am Borja Obeso from rebelgrowth.com and let’s get started. Welcome to the Moneydiver podcast, I am Borja Obeso and every week I bring you step-by-step actionable online marketing strategies that you can implement in your business to see the results fast. So let the diving begin.
Well welcome, I cannot believe I am finally publishing the first episode of the Moneydiver podcast. It has been so long since I wanted to do this but podcast. I have been procrastinating it for so long, I have even purchased my equipment like I don’t know, something about a year ago but it is finally here and thank you so much for taking some time to listen to it. You might know me from my blog, rebelgrowth.com and if you don’t, my name is Borja Obeso. That is B.O.R.J.A. I am originally from Spain and Venezuela so that is why you will find something or a lot of an accent in me. I am the founder of Moneydiver like I said which is my marketing brand. It was originally a blog and now it has the podcast that goes with it. And I am also the founder of Smartduu, smartduu.com which is my software, my WordPress software company and I will be talking about that a little more later.
Now the podcast is going to be formatted in a step-by-step process where every week I’m going to try to take you through a step-by-step process of a specific marketing strategy that you can implement. I’m going to have an expert, someone who I consider an expert on each marketing strategy, take you through the process of doing it and mastering that strategy so that you can put it into action for your business. Now and then, I am going to have standalone episodes where I will be alone talking about a specific marketing tip or something related to online business that I think you will really benefit from. This episode is going to be a little bit different actually because this is an introduction which is for you to learn and know what the show is going to be about, why you should listen to me, what we’re going to be talking about etc and how we’re going to be talking about it and how you are going to be learning about the things that we’re going to be talking about because that is very important. I do like all type of business and marketing shows and blogs but I like it more when they are very specific. That’s what I’m trying to do here; I’m trying to take you through a step-by-step process like bulletproof or dummy proof process so you can learn all of the strategies that we talk about here on this show and I will try to do that as best as I can.
Now why should you listen to me and why should you listen to the show? No, I’m not the greatest marketer or businessman or entrepreneur in the world, I hope to be someday but if I’m not, I don’t care about it. I’m just trying to share my stories, share my successes and what works for me because I have been having some great results in the stuff that I have been doing. And I also have been having a lot of failures and you will benefit from both the successes and the failures. And one thing I’m going to try to do in my brand, not so much the podcast but more in the blog, is I’m going to talk about specific industry marketing strategies. Like I said, that is not going to happen so much in the podcast at the beginning at least or until I sort it out but it is going to happen on the blog. I am going to have a section where I will be teaching you or showing you marketing strategies that are specific about your industry. I will try to have marketing experts that are industry-specific and what I mean with industry-specific is that people that are experts on the real estate industry, the restaurant industry, the lawyers and doctors and all types of industries because marketing is very, very different – well not very different but it is different on every industry and there is tips that are going to be specific for every industry, it might not work for all the industries. But I will try to do a lot of that in the blog and when I sort it out and I figure it out, I will try to do it in the podcast as well, maybe create all the shows that go along with these shows that are specific. I don’t know, I will see what I do about that. But that is something that the brand, Moneydiver will be doing a lot and I’m pretty sure, I’m 100% confident that you will benefit from it because the more specific you are about anything that you teach or anything that you learn, the better that you are going to soak it in.
Now why the name Moneydiver? Well if you think about it, what is the end purpose of marketing? Even if it is a non-profit organization, the end purpose of marketing is generating revenue, generating an income, generating money unless you are like a politician where what you will be caring about is votes I guess by the end purpose of marketing is money. Now a little background on me, I started doing online marketing and digital marketing when I graduated, after I graduated college. I graduated – I have majors in marketing but specifically online marketing, I started doing it after I graduated and I started working for a tourism company back in the day. And that’s when I started to learn all the different strategies to generating clients through online methods. Then I started creating my own ventures, sort of niche websites that are specific on one topic and making money from those websites by promoting other people’s products or services. And that is something that we could go into as a whole episode and I’m actually doing that in the next episode with Pat Flynn. He’s going to be talking about how to create niche websites that you can then monetize or that you can then use to bring traffic back to your own business. And traffic is flow of clients if you are not familiar with the term but I’m pretty sure you are.
Now I started doing this when I was working for this company and one, the income reached and surpassed my salary, that’s when I started doing it as an entrepreneur. Then I started rebelgrowth.com to talk about my successes and as time went on, I started improving on my blogging skills and my writing skills because at the beginning, they weren’t really good actually but they improved over time. And now the brand has come to be the podcast that you are listening to. So it has been quite an evolution.
Now this is something that you will be hearing a lot on this show and it is that Moneydiver as a marketing brand makes a very strong emphasis on the audience part of things, specifically on audience segmentation which is the strategy that I fell in love with, in regards online marketing. And it is actually the strategy around what I build my software business, smartduu.com. And the reason I love it so much is because the more I found myself creating segments on my audience, the better the results were in regards of conversion rates, revenue and traffic, even traffic because people felt more related to what I was talking about so they would share it more. So I go a lot into audience segmentation on my brand and at the end of every episode, I’m going to ask all of the guests what they’re avatar is and an avatar is your ideal customer, the ideal person that should be listening to you so that you see how all of these entrepreneurs in marketing know who they are marketing to, know who they are talking to and you should be doing the same thing. A lot of people are going to have different views on the subject and different opinions but I do like the audience part of thing, research, market research, segmentation, content personalization, all that goes along with it and I will be talking a lot about that. But in general, we’re going to be covering all of the different marketing strategies that you can implement in your business to generate more leads and traffic and sales which is what we all care about in this industry.
