5 Successful Landing Pages from 5 Great Entrepreneurs

A great landing page is one of the most important elements in creating an effective online sales campaign. Unfortunately many entrepreneurs make the mistake of using unclear and confusing landing pages that fail to make conversions. These pages may look attractive at first glace, but they don’t offer the page features that potential customers need to make the sale.

Although there is no set formula for success, you can improve your landing pages significantly by including a few crucial page elements.

What Makes Succesfull Landing Pages? 

It’s not complicated to create Succesfull Landing Pages if you understand the necessary elements and how to use them on your landing pages. Succesfull Landing Pages often include several of the following elements:

 

  • A Clear, Eye-catching Headline
  • An Informative Image or Video
  • A Call to Action
  • Important Elements above the Fold
  • Simple Navigation
  • Product Descriptions
  • Testimonials
  • Trust Elements

Successful Landing Pages don’t need to include every single element, but you do need to have at least some of these elements in order to create conversions. Let’s examine examples from five big entrepreneurs that exemplify the qualities of Successful Landing Pages.

1. Video Traffic Academy

This landing page for James Wedmore’s Video Traffic Academy leads with an informative video that helps to explain how the product helps thousands of businesses leverage the power of YouTube. A short piece of text to the right of the video quickly describes the benefits of Video Traffic Academy. Directly below the benefits is a clear call to action which directs customers to “Get more traffic now”.

Wedmore makes full use of trust elements by placing company logos in clear sight above the fold. Faith is instilled when potential customers see that Video Traffic Academy is featured in publications such as Forbes and Entrepreneur. This particular landing page also uses additional trust elements in the footer.

One of the most effective Wedmore utilizes is customer testimonials. Four powerful testimonials are placed toward the bottom of the landing page to help push potential customers to pull the trigger on this product.

He properly enlists the benefits of VTA and also provides bonuses, which is a must of any product. Another thing I particularly love about this sales page, is the design, a full width, flat, modern design.

2.KISSmetrics

The landing page for KISSmetrics keeps it short and to the point.
The page offers a powerful headline that gets right to the point of KISSmetrics’ services. Below the headline, a slideshow demonstrates a simplified example of how KISSmetrics can show you valuable information about your customers.

When the slideshow ends, a noticeable green button prompts the viewer to “Sign up for KISSmetrics Today”.

The links at the top of the page are minimal and targeted for this product only. Potential customers can navigate to information on different pricing plans, businesses already utilizing the product, or further product details and features.

This is a great example of a landing page that uses the “just enough information” model. Potential customer have just enough information to make a decision, but they don’t feel overwhelmed by choices or information overloaded.

3. Premise for Wordpress

The Premise for Wordpress landing page showcases the benefits of the product by using a memorable alliteration technique. The landing page leads with the benefits of action, access, and acceleration. Simple icons are combined with product descriptions to give potential customers a clear understanding of the product.

Below the benefits, Premise promises to “Take the Pain out of Digital Sales and Lead Generation.” One of the most effective ideas on this landing page is the “problem/solution” layout. This allows for multiple opportunities for customers to connect and also allows for multiple calls to action.

After each problem and solution scenario (pain/premise), potential customers are given the option to look at plans and pricing or set up membership. For customers looking for a justification to buy, this layout is very effective.

4. Optin Skin

I love the simplicity and clarity of the OptinSkin landing page. A straightforward headline and an informative video are the focus on this landing page.

The video helps to explain the benefits of using opt-in forms for blogs. A boldly colored yellow and blue call to action button urges potential customers to “Add to Cart”.

Below the fold, there is a list of “Eight Reasons This is the Most Important Plugin Your Blog is Missing” that describes the benefits and features along with images of the product. This landing page also includes testimonials that help to reinforce the claims made in the benefits section.

5. Master’s Blueprint

Michael Dunlop’s landing page for Master’s Blueprint is effective and direct. An explainer video tells potential clients basic information about Master’s Blueprint, while the descriptions below the video describe the specific benefits of each of the program’s modules. The first part of the landing page helps to ensure customers that blogging can be easy if you use Master’s Blueprint.

The landing page has two strong calls to action that encourage potential customers to “Get Instant Access.” These calls to action bookend the content, ensuring viewers have an opportunity to act right away or after viewing more content. The landing page ends with a satisfaction guarantee that assures customers will get their money back if they are not making money within 60 days.

General Tips 

When creating Successful Landing Pages, don’t try to be everything to everyone. Radio host and life coach Joel Bogess once said, “The masses are trying to do what everyone else does.” Remember that you are targeting a specific audience with your landing page. You don’t have to cater to every potential customer.

You also don’t need to include every single landing page element in order to create conversions. Consider your target audience and choose the elements that make the most sense.

Though landing pages may seem complicated at first, they don’t need to be. By carefully choosing the elements and considering your target audience, you can create effective and Succesfull Landing Pages that actually create conversions.
