19 Benefits of Being an Online Entrepreneur
[toc]Anyone knows that each passing moment will never come back again. Enjoying the moment (carpe diem) is a very important thing. Same goes for entrepreneurship.
Studies show that those people feeling grateful in their life have a higher rate of getting successful in their life. In line with this, I have listed below the 20 benefits for being an online entrepreneur.
1. World Wide Web
With the advancement of technology and the development of the internet, entrepreneurs today are provided with a lot of potential customers to their venture. Videos, blogs and social networking can easily be accessed by the people around the world. And these are being taken advantage by businessmen today.
And if we get confused and need help, Google will help.
2. Online Payment Processors
“The world’s most loved way to pay and get paid” (PayPal), that´s their banner. I’m not sure if there is a better way to transact financial business SAFELY through the internet, but I’m pretty certain that this site is the most famous.
Most people handling money have an account in PayPal in order to transfer money worldwide. We are blessed with this innovation that we do not have to go through the hassle of sending in mail or even transporting them personally. In fact, 75% of my business revenue comes from PayPal in the last year. As long as there is an internet connection, the world tends to be smaller.
3. Learn from Mistakes
“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.” – George Bernard Shaw
I have made so many mistakes since I became an entrepreneur, that is two years ago. But as I see it as a bad memory during those times, I felt that I became better in what I do. Each mistake that I did has pursued me to work harder and faster. Now I wish I made more mistakes. The wasted opportunities and clients during the past were necessary for me to learn important lessons in being a successful entrepreneur. The fact that you can never do anything perfectly as planned implies that instead of trying hard to be flawless, accept mistakes and learn from them. They will be the framework of success.
4. Work while you Travel
I experienced the advantage of online business once when me and my friends made a trip for about a month. My friends had taken a leave in their work but I continued my business via the internet. Although there are factors that are needed in order to manage working online – adequate electricity, good internet connection and hygiene – if you are passionate about your work, you will surely find a way. Entrepreneurs such as me have called this “digital nomad” lifestyle. Cody McKibben, a Thai writer and entrepreneur has adopted the “digital nomad” and is successful in his life. I hope someday I can be as successful as him, having to work and travel at the same time.
5. People Behind the Scene
Two is better than one. A business is better managed when there are people trying to figure out ways to get the best outcome. Another thing is that it’s more enjoyable working when there are people around you.
6. The Greatest Encyclopedia ever Created
At first I was very skeptical about this online encyclopedia that can be edited by anyone. How accurate could the information be? But I was wrong.
Wikipedia is a site that is always updated so even the events happening now could be listed. The references put below the information will provide you the proof that that is certainly a fact. On top of that, Wikipedia is ad-free. They only ask for donations annually so that they won’t resort to accepting that irritating ads that pops-up in every click you do. So if you want this site free from advertisements, feel free to donate.
7. Getting Inspired
“As long as you’re going to be thinking anyway, think big.” – Donald Trump
There is no limit to imagination. Ideas come from creative imagination and this should be within every entrepreneur planning to become successful in their lives.
Sticking to one idea is good, but having more gives you options on what to do. Coming up with the perfect business is not a walk in the park; you should have inspiration so you will get it.
8. Be flexible
Sometimes you may feel that you are doing the same thing every single day – going to the office and doing what you are hired to do – and this is very frustrating. You should open different doors so your life will not be boring.
Online businesspersons luckily do not have this problem. Their work depends on the progress that their business has reached in that particular day and changes after a new level is achieved. Flexibility is the best asset that these people must have. Although your life will get a bit tiring from the changes, but you must accept them in order to become a successful entrepreneur.
9. Social Networks
If you get to the point that your mind is so tired you can’t even hear yourself think, then just go online and browse any social networking sites. You can get ideas from the millions of people in access with the site and you can even present your business in one of these websites, and have greater potential clients.
10. Sell Worldwide
The world-wide-web gives you an opportunity to sell your products or skills to all the people having access with the internet. That means GLOBAL. Try to imagine your services offered will be acknowledged by companies in every country and they would like to work with you. That would be great! Instead of you travelling to their offices, they only search the web and look for services they want and get an interview with you. That is a privilege that today’s generation can use freely. And if your business grows, more employees should be hired. Most online business has to hire employees from countries that offer a low rate of work. It’s not much money for them but it’s better than to do nothing.
11. Adobe Software
Probably the best and most famous multimedia software in the world, the Adobe Systems has provided the people with programs that can easily manipulate and enhance images, designs, audio and videos. Some of these programs are: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Audition and After Effects. Even non-professional can make a high-quality results if he/she uses these programs.
12. Earn even if you’re asleep
Literally you can gain income even if you sleep! This was proven by the top 20 online businesspersons after some years of struggles to make their business stay afloat, that their income now are increasing even as you are reading this.
I provide video services online and I am still having a hard time earning every dollar, but the idea of gaining more money even as I sleep is one of the best things that I can surely achieve if I strive hard in my online business.
13. The Adventure
Risk is almost anywhere when making decisions. Venturing into a new business is a risk, if it will be successful or not. Every step is vital so that your business will not be destroyed right before your eyes.
Getting the good side of taking risks is what every gambler is trying to achieve. And we always gamble in our life. Doing business is the same thing, failure or success. Just be optimistic and try to make the right decisions so you will be blessed with a worthy reward. Taking a risk is what makes an entrepreneur’s life more interesting, and oftentimes revealing the best of me.
We all have wisdom even when we’re still a child. Knowledge is also achieved when we start to learn new things in life. But the ability to know what’s right from wrong is attained only when you have made a mistake and learned from it.
In the world of business, mistakes usually happen a lot at the starting years. But these mistakes are the keys to opening the great treasure of success. You learn from your mistakes and never do it again. You will gain skills to get through an obstacle and you will do another mistake, and learn once more. This cycle will never end if you are willing to learn.
Having two equally difficult choices makes entrepreneurs learn faster.
16. Make your own Rules
“ I’m not in business to make money for the other guy. I’m in business to make money for myself. ”— Sheldon Adelson
We all remember our childhood when we don’t want to sleep early at night so we can play; and had to wake up early so we won’t be late in school.
Now that I am working online, I can make my own rules. I sleep late at night to work having not to worry about waking up early. This enables me to perform at my best because I have my freedom on when I would like to work, as what my body dictates me.
17. The Ultimate Blogging Platform
WordPress, WP, is the easiest way to publish articles online. It is so popular that many famous bloggers use it, with about 16% of Alexa’s Top One Million websites under WordPress.
18. Work Hard to Earn Big
Entrepreneurs know that business is not a linear growth. But if you work hard for it, then you might just be close to a straight line.
Putting efforts to having more clients will get you more referrals; having more customers will spread your business quicker; having more articles posted in your website will generate more traffic. Working hard will eventually give you your hard earned success.
The ability to know and work with people from all around the world is an enormous pleasure.
20. Infinite Possibilities
Being a businessman does not mean that I already know everything. In fact, I am in a constant path to knowing what lies behind. The world is made up of infinite possibilities – gaining, losing, rising, and falling – these are some things I always consider to happen in my business.
This adventure gives me the thrill and is pursuing me to be better in what I do. Forbes created a great post on a narrow focus that can benefit entrepreneurs
